Above: While many people confuse Freemasonry with the Royal Order of Antediluvian Buffaloes as comically depicted in "The Flintstones", there is no actual association between Freemasonry and the "Buffs".

If you are a mature adult male 18 years of age or older and believe that by setting high moral standards and excellence in all that you undertake is the best way to improve the world, then Freemasonry is for you. If the following three categories describe you, then you might consider membership:
A Freemason is a law abiding citizen.
A Freemason is one who has strong ethics and contributes to the creation of a better and more caring society.
A Freemason is one who believes in the equality of all mankind and the existence of a supreme being.
You don't have to know a Freemason in order to apply for membership. In short when you submit your application we will ask you to provide references of your good character and we'll organise a couple of face to face meetings at a time and place of your convenience.
Do I have to have a relative in Freemasonry in order to join? No. Any adult male over the age of 18 who is of good character is free to apply for membership. You don't have to have had relatives or friends in Freemasonry.
What's the deal with wearing dinner suits? As an equality organisation where all members (regardless of their professional, educational, or social standing) are considered equal. Formal attire enables all members to be seen equally with the gloves masking the hands of a tradesperson and surgeon alike, thus neither can be distinguished and accordingly all are treated as equals among men.
Is Freemasonry a religion or a cult? No. It is a fraternal organisation that does not substitute for any religion. Members are encouraged to maintain their religious faith (What ever their diety). We welcome men of all faiths and denominations.
What does it cost? There are small costs that relate to the initial administrative costs of joining and an annual fee. Overall they are not any higher than those of being a member of any regular sporting club, social club, association, or union.
Is Freemasonry a good way to meet people? Definately. Visiting fellow lodges, recieving visitors from other lodges as well as non-masonic guest speakers allows members to network and expand their social awareness, education and knowledge beyond their own personal boundaries.
Freemasonry is a secret society
Freemasonry is an organisation with secrets but these are perculiar to the preservation of ancient fraternal customs that form the basis of teachings of the craft and are a test of personal honour. The secrets do not promote anti-social, violence, or anti-religious values.
Freemasonry demands a great deal of time and personal commitment
Members are encouraged to put their families, faith and work first. Members can choose to come to lodge and visit other lodges as often as they wish and Freemasonry allows its members to gain as much as they put in . . .
But remember, family, faith, and work first.
Freemasonry is a rich boys club
Our membership represents all walks of life with members representing all manner of social and economic backgrounds. Regardless of a member's place in the wider community,
ALL Freemasons are regarded and treated as brothers among men both in and out of the lodge.
Freemasonry is a worldwide conspiracy undermining church and state
Freemsonry promotes moral and ethical values, and most importantly the belief in faith. Members are sworn to uphold the laws of their country and to support all of their government authorities. Forget all of the Hollywood films and mis-information that circulates on the web.
Goats are used in the ceremonies . . .
It's an old favourite chestnut, and has been the popular  punchline to many jokes about Freemasonry over the years. Maybe if the price of petrol starts to get too high we may need to consider buying a goat or a sheep for a more organic solution to keeping the extensive lawns around our lodge in check.
Jack the Ripper was a Freemason . . .
Was he? Seriously??  Honestly??? If anybody can actually answer that, then we strongly urge them to contact the Cold Case Division at Scotland Yard in London. We're sure that they'd love to close the case on that one after more than a century.
